About Me

My photo
"I can't help it, if I wanted to. I can't help myself, even if I could . . ." . . . but, I'm a 'Michael-holic' to the very core ;-) ! Miss him more, everyday.

I Can't help it, but...

...I think about Michael all day, every day.

Listening to his music...
Playing a certain song over & over & over, again...
Watching videos...
Hanging out in my favorite forums...
Keeping up w/latest news...
Praying for his Mom, his kids, Janet...
It keeps him close to my heart...

It's like catching up w/a long-lost friend - my friend, the friend I never met, but miss sooo very much.

Why is that?

I Look to You - Whitney Houston

...is this a cry for help...did we miss it, again...? As I lay me down Heaven hear me now I’m lost without a cause After giving it my all Winter storms have come And darkened my sun After all that I’ve been through Who on earth can I turn to?

No Charges Filed Against Other Jackson Doctors

Date: Thursday, July 29, 2010, 5:09 am
By: Greg Risling, Associated Pres

LOS ANGELES (AP) — State investigators probing the death of Michael Jackson have decided not to file charges against seven doctors who treated him, authorities said Wednesday.

The doctors were part of an investigation by state Attorney General Jerry Brown's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, spokeswoman Christine Gasparac said.

One doctor whose name was not released has been referred to the California Medical Board for prescribing drugs to a Jackson alias, she said.

Candis Cohen, a board spokeswoman, declined to confirm the action, saying complaints and investigations were not public record.

Jackson's personal doctor, Conrad Murray, has pleaded not guilty to felony involuntary manslaughter in the singer's death. Authorities say Murray provided Jackson with a mix of sedatives, including a powerful anesthetic that killed him.

Murray was not among the seven doctors involved in the state investigation.

Los Angeles police who investigated the death had asked state and federal investigators to look into the prescribing practices of doctors who previously treated the 50-year-old pop star.

The federal Drug Enforcement Agency has also stopped investigating the actions of any other Jackson doctors, agency spokeswoman Sarah Pullen said.

"I am very disappointed," said attorney Brian Oxman, who represents Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson in a wrongful death lawsuit against Murray. "The misuse of medications by Michael Jackson in the last years of his life was excessive and to fail to bring that to the public eye is ignoring reality."

The state investigation included the search of a prescription drug database that tracks doctors who prescribe controlled substances. The database also monitors the quantity and recipients of those drugs.

THIS is why these doctors aren't needed to testify.  They had nothing to do w/what transpired on June 25, 2009.

Katherine Jackson Still Struggles To 'Cope'

My heart goes out to you, Miss Katherine.

As heavy as my heart is, over the loss of Michael, I can't begin to imagine her pain - or the pain of any parent who has to bury their child.

God bless you & keep you.

When race-baiting backfires: The Shirley Sherrod teachable moment

When race-baiting backfires: The Shirley Sherrod teachable moment The attack on the USDA's former Georgia director of Rural Development, Ms. Shirley Sherrod, by conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart is the most recent example of the dangers that come from reactionary sound-bite politics being put in the context of race.

Breitbart does not take responsibility for releasing the video clip, but he blames the media for blowing the situation out of proportion. Additionally, he admitted that he did not see the full tape until this week after he had placed the editing edited clips on the Internet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just love this ‘penned’ phrase: “…reactionary sound-bite politics…”  This isn’t to get political on anyone, but isn’t what this gentleman did to Ms. Sherrod, the same treatment given to Michael by the media?   They took any ‘little’ thing he said or did  & blew it out of proportion;  removed things from its original context & added their two-cents to encourage a negative perception.  Isn’t this what Bashir did??!  He couldn’t destroy Michael’s soul, so instead, he set out to destroy Michael’s heart.  His ‘sound-bite’ game cost MJ his life.
But, Michael continued to love, anyway!
CELEBRITY SCALES: Michael Jackson, the Wounded Messenger: Star-Studded Legal Commentary for the Celebrity Obsessed
“Through his prolific body of work, advocacy initiatives and multi-million dollar charity efforts, Michael Jackson raised international awareness and support for some of the most complex and timeless issues confronting the human condition.  AIDS, cancer, famine, homelessness, gang violence, racism, totalitarianism, environmental degradation, . . . A deeper analysis of Michael Jackson’s work reveals an individual with a burning concern for improving the lives of the disadvantaged and persecuted around the world...Global events in the weeks surrounding Jackson’s death alone directly mirror the complex problems for which he attempted to raise international awareness.  In Iran and before the world’s eyes, civilian demonstrations were squashed and innocent victims like the young Neda Agha-Soltan brutally murdered by instruments of a totalitarian state.  In Washington, D.C., a white supremacist motivated by pure hate attempted a killing spree at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, murdering an African American security guard in his rampage.  In North Korea, U.S. journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee were unjustly sentenced to twelve years of hard labor to merely serve as international bargaining chips for an evil dictator. . . How are we now missing this message when it is even more crucial for it to be absorbed into the public mind?  Not only do Michael Jackson’s cries of awakening continue to be ignored but his reputation continues to be smeared...”
