Song Facts: The Girl is Mine (Paul McCartney & the Beatles Catalog)
... my posting from the above website ...
FACT vs. RUMOR
Here's a link that breaks it all down: http://www.pophistorydig.com/?tag=beatles-song-catalog-history.
There was no bidding war. Michael had his lawyers approach Paul, FIRST. Never mind, Paul had already been approached earlier by the owners, themselves, but he said the price was too "steep." Once he found out Michael was interested, he "CHANGED HIS MIND."
Hmmm ... Paul has two-faces: He has been paying someone else his entire life, & never had a problem w/it until Michael got involved. Never mind, it was on Paul's advice that Michael ventured into this area, in the first place. Now, how would Paul know that, THAT is a great way to make money? OH YEAH! That's right! Someone is PAYING HIM, every time they sing one of their own songs. As a matter-of-fact, a "whole lotta someones." Hmmm, your attitude is very interesting, Paul . . . THAT is what's disgusting. Paul needs to get over himself. He had his chance & he had the money.

I was watching Bridge to Terabithia, a while back, & something the father told Jess, to comfort him, touched my heart as it relates to our losing MJ, "Leslie brought something special to you, when she came here, didn't she? Well, hold on to that. That's how you keep her alive."
We Luv U & we Miss U Michael!
We're holding on ...

Why do 'the Haters' hate Michael?
A thought for my friends in psychology . . . help me out, here please:
Why do 'the Haters' hate Michael?
My thoughts . . .
For SOME, could it be because they loved him? They loved him for his awesome talents & ability to entertain & mesmerize . . . therefore, with “seemingly” everything going for him – they thought he should’ve been perfect . . . ? They put him on a pedestal, & because of his flaws, they thought it was a bad "reflection on "them?" After all, "...he's different; he's not like 'other' guys..." The haters don't want anyone to know they 'secretly' adore this man...
(there’s a “thin line between love & hate”)
Their "hate" reminds me of the little boy in class who pulls on the pigtails of the little girl he's actually crazy about. You know him! He likes her, but because she doesn't give him the time of day, he has to prove to "his boys" that he isn't a punk & really doesn't care. So, what does he do? He picks on her, calls her names, pushes her around, pulls on her pigtails, whatever he can, to "put her down," publicly. Hmmm . . .
Since their love couldn’t straighten him out, “make him perfect,” they decided to turn on him . . .:
(1). . . because although, he was a perfectionist when it came to his art, his craft/talent, he wasn’t a perfect person in daily life situations; he dared to show he was a human who made mistakes just like the rest of us mere mortals:
-- bad judgment calls;
-- followed bad advice & sometimes didn’t follow good advice;
-- was no more successful w/love than the rest of us (Egad!)
-- The “haters” hate Michael, because somehow, he shows them up for their own flaws & shortcomings; after all, how could this mere human, step up & step out, & become one of if not the greatest entertainer of all time? When you look @ his humble beginnings, it boggles the mind!
No, we - who love Michael Jackson - do not believe we can love away his flaws simply because we enjoy his music. We, his fans, KNEW he was human! We accepted him for his humanness, applauded him for his talents & loved him for understanding his place in this world & proudly taking it. He knew what he was sent here to do & he did it, without apology! How many of us have felt a “calling” on our life, but backed down out of fear? Fear of failure, fear of success??! Mikey has put us all “on blast!”
(2) . . . because there were times when he was easily led, just like a child . . .
(3) . . . because they were jealous that Mike felt free to proclaim, “he never wanted to grow up!”
(4) . . . because they were jealous, since they too, didn’t want to grow up, but were too embarrassed to admit it! (after all, you’re suppose to be a grown man, or grown woman, right?)

They hate him because in spite of all his humanness, his awesome talents & abilities, he still possessed that heart of a child. A heart that only saw the good in a person – who, like a child, believed that those around him had his best interest @ heart, even when they didn’t. Because he could relate to children, children sensed this & therefore flocked to him. They felt Michael was “one of them!”
Below is something I read on the youtube page of my friend “shine4fairies" (http://www.youtube.com/user/shine4fairies) .” I googled it for more information. Below is the beautiful & insightful passage:

Our Deepest Fear

Our Deepest Fear
by Marianne Williamson
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.
And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

As I read the following commentary
(http://34thcardiffscouts.org/Documents/Our%20deepest%20fear%20is%20not%20that%20we%20are%20inadequate.doc) from the unknown writer/bloggist, I couldn’t help but cry! It was Michael. I thought, “Oh my goodness, that’s it! That’s Michael!” He wanted to be a “great entertainer,” & he was; however, it was not w/o “great” sacrifice!
In closing . . .
- I never met Michael Jackson.
- I never attended a concert; I cry watching youtube as I feel the life-force that jumps from my monitor (youtube may ban me @ anytime, now – or, Comcast may start charging me more $$ for the streams - LOL!)!
- I had some of his music, but not all of it. (you know that’s changed, right ;-) ?)
I loved him for being the one to “get my parties started!” Yeah, that’s right! It wasn’t a par-tay until Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ started sum’tin!
I appreciated him for his heart & love for children . . . for being so willing to be “out there” & be that instrument God used, by sharing his gift of music & dance to bring some joy into my heart & life, as well as the hearts & lives of others! Music does that! Mikey did that & he continues to do it, even now!
Michael Jackson has always been a part of my life. The fact that he was only two years older than myself . . . well, it’s like I say in my profile: “He was one of those constants in my life, that now he’s gone – it’s a hole that will forever be empty. What can possibly fill it?”
Please, you have to read the commentary for any of this to make sense.
Yes, there’s a “thin line between love & hate,” & the passion of 'the haters' proves it.
Michael was a “child of God who refused to play small, dared to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous!”
No, he wasn’t perfect, he was human. I’m thankful for being allowed to share the same time & space as he.
Happy & sad memories, but I’ll always “Remember The Time!”
Wow! He definitely let his light shine - didn’t he?
Thank you, my dear, sweet “Supernova,” for everything!
R.I.P. Michael! I’ll LoveU4eva!
